Aamir Khan opens up about insecurities regarding his height
Aamir Khan revealed that he feared that he would be rejected by audiences due to his height. In a conversation with Nana Patekar on Zee Music Company’s YouTube channel, he said, “Yes, I did. I used to feel that what if people don’t accept me because of my height. This was my fear. But later I realised that all of this does not matter at all. But at that time, some kind of insecurity creeps in.”
Speaking to him, Nana Patekar stated, “Look at my face. With this face, I could work for 50 years.”
Adding to the conversation, Aamir even stated how insecurities shaped his understanding of his path, he said, “The things that stress us out in the beginning, we later realise that these things don’t matter at all. What is important is how honestly you are working and how your work can enchant people, and after that everything else is unimportant.”
Earlier during an interview in 2012, Aamir had stated that he was once afraid of being called tingu (short). He said, “Mere zehan mein tha, mujhe darr tha log bolenge bada tingu hai, so yeh darr tha par logon ko pasand aaya.”
